The Program
Day 1 : Tirana – Shkodra
- Afternoon departure by car to the ancient town of Shkodra with its rich history
- Dinner and overnight in Shkodra.
Day 2 : Shkodra
- After breakfast v isit the town including the Catholic Cathedral (for a time in the 19C it was the largest Catholic cathedral in the Balkans), the Franciscan church of Shkodra , the new Mosque of Plumbi (the largest mosque in Albania), Parruca Mosque and Marubi photographic archive
- A coffee break and a visit to the Big Café, one of the cultural monuments of the city.
- Lunch at local restaurant
- Visit to Mes Bridge – a magnificent example of Ottoman civil engineering.
- Dinner and overnight at Shkodra
Day 3 : Shkodra – Tirana
- After breakfast v isit the great Citadel of Rosafat, situated on a rocky outcrop of limestone 135m high above the point where River Buna meets the River Kir. The spectacular views on every side can enjoyed from there, particularly of Lake Shkodra , the River Buna etc. Inside the citadel visit to the Venetian tower, remains of St. Stephen’s Cathedral etc.
- Lunch at local restaurant
- Afternoon departure to Tirana.
